FOREST SCHOOLS GLOBALLY

Last year, Stuart organised a group of South American Indians, who created a workshop at the Forest School, to exchange global Forest School community skills.

We are linking the Global Forest School network with a Forest School in the Amazon Basin in Brazil.  It is with the aim of helping education reach people in Forest Communities globally, that UNESCO supports this link, (see: www.unesco.co.uk) In order to  Network the sharing of informative education between Forest schools world- wide, UNESCO has established a link Between an Amazonian Forest School with a school in N.Ireland, to empower both with education facilities and information.  This provides education to the Amazonian Forest School about the logging companies persual of their lands, on which their livelihoods depend, and increases the reality for the School in Ireland, about the direct effects of deforestation on the Eco-system, therefore, providing insightful education about the importance of planting broad leafed trees to soak up pollution. Both schools exchange letters and designs sharing information about their arts, crafts and sustainable lifestyles, in order to refine learning through the sharing of knowledge, too increase awareness of bio-diversity issues affecting our planet.
