Kenya lies under the stars where butterflies spend their hours.
Butterflies with coloured wings glistening velvet in the spring.
In the American wedding cloud when the bells ring out aloud.
They let the butterflies fly so high to finalise the wedding tie.

Their little wings wave good bye

A butterfly is very bright but doesn't really come out at night.
But when is sees a flower it likes, then zoom zoom with all its might.
It likes to come out in the heat of the sun but never has proper time for fun.
It must search all day for its food - the sugary nectar is very good.

Joseph was a farmer but crops he did not reap.
Not sheep not pigs not cows but butterflies did he keep.
Colourful and varied : yellow blue and red.
They'd settle on the treetop and even on your head.
Up and down and all around went all the butterflies.
The colours were so beautiful like rainbows in the sky.
They'd start life as an ugly bug and weave their own cocoon.
With body bright and wings so light the magic will begin real soon.
Joseph has no favourite - no apple of his eye.
He watches in amazement as these wonders flutter by.

In Kenya's skies butterflies float and flutter by.
They fly on aeroplanes with the help of Joseph and his friends.
Going to countries far away,
To spread their wings - what a beautiful array.
