PRISON Projects

Prison ministry.

Prisoners have got very little or no contact at all with the outside world. I would therefore like to see that a program is put together that can enable the prisoners from the Kitale main prison to get in touch with their relatives through letter writings and phone calls. I have tried in the past but with the limited resources it has been very difficult and challenging. With financial support I can be able run the program very smoothly.

This can only be achieved if I can manage to set up a program within the institution that will be able to purchase some note books, pens and phone airtime .According to our systems in the correctional facilities/centers women are allowed to stay with their children ages 5 years and below. this kids are becoming prisoners too against their own wishers and I would like to see that we set up a program that will make sure that the kids while in prisons with their mother, do not undergo the same experience like the mother or suffer while in the prison.

We have many   plans for the Kitale main prison in order to improve its regimes. Prisoners are living in a very bad environment whereby they are prone to different sicknesses and diseases. The number one need in the prison is clean water and right now through some little support from my friends and well wishers ,we are trying to pump up some clean water from a nearby source, then   do some fittings inside their cells so that they may be able to take showers and wash their clothes. Also we need to set up a medical dispensary within the prison premises in order they get some   treatments   on minor ailments.



We are in need of some funds to set up a program to help former prisoners outside after their release from the prison. In most cases   its hard for someone to cope with life outside the prison once released because its takes time for someone to be accepted   back into the community.

We shall be setting up a program to help them start some small business in order to generate income and thus will keep them from reoffending.

4)       5 TELEVISON SETS AND 3 RADIOS.
5)       SANITATION ITEMS FOR THE WOMEN PRISON ETC.
