The
publication, (launch) of a magazine, (second issue) as a showcase for the
academic work being completed by tutors and students in 7 prisons across
Europe. In the publication, however, there has been a wonderful coming
together of both tutors and students - and a cross pollination across
international borders. All involved deserve much praise.
This
project offered a model of how rewarding European Co-operation can be. At
times difficult situations and hardships may have arisen but those taking
part maintained focus to complete this outstanding document. The document
was contributed to by prison establishments in Northern Ireland, England,
Southern Ireland, Poland, Bulgaria and Norway. The third issue will be led
by the Norwegian team. This edition is dedicated, by his friends and
colleagues, to Jim Turley. Jim, a driving force, wrote the foreword, but
passed away before seeing this issue published.
